Gaheris/Dreaded Seals

From GaherisWiki

(Redirected from Dreaded Seals)

Dreaded seals are the only way to earn Realm Points on Gaheris. They come in two varieties, Glowing Dreaded Seals and Sanguine Dreaded Seals. Each is worth the same amount of RPs, the only difference is that Sanguine Dreaded Seals are dropped by Epic encounter mobs in stacks, while Glowing Dreaded Seals drop from non-encounter mobs in singles.

They drop from many sources:

Realm Points

At the moment, Gaheris is the bearer of the underpopulated server title, meaning we get an extra 20% RPS from turning in Dreaded Seals. These are the current rewards based on the character's level, with no extra effort.

At Level Realm Points 20% Bonus
21 to 25 20 per seal +4
26 to 30 30 per seal +6
31 to 35 50 per seal +10
36 to 40 300 per seal +60
41 to 45 700 per seal +140
46 to 49 1500 per seal +300
50 3000 per seal +600

You'll hear many players cry "wait for level 50!" See the comments at the end why you might rethink this.

Temel

The Temel Labyrinth Relic encounter (at 32k 39k Breifine) will grant a 1 hour, 10% RP/XP/CLXP bonus (which stacks with the underpopulation bonus). Do this encounter, you earn an extra bonus!

At Level Realm Points Temel Buff Realm Points Temel Buff
 ?21 to 25? 20 per seal +2 24 per seal +2
 ?26? to 30 30 per seal +3 36 per seal +3
31 to 35 50 per seal +5 60 per seal +6
36 to 40 300 per seal +30 360 per seal +36
41 to 45 700 per seal +70 840 per seal +84
46 to 49 1500 per seal +150 1800 per seal +180
50 3000 per seal +300 3600 per seal +360

Someone needs to test what level you must be to get Temel buff credit, so far in testing level 21 does not receive the encounter buff, while level 30 does.

Some hints, no need to kill Gozer (stun him or whatever), and pick up the relic. The buff remains if you log out (a fast ride home is to log for 10 minutes, log back in at the frontier village with a porter right there). The Gaheris Mahir relic does not grant RP bonus (only XP and CLXP of 10% lasting for 2 hours). (I don't know the Dracolich encounter bonus for Gaheris, offhand.)

All the rest of the bonuses below stack on top of Underpopulation and Temel encounter buffs, and with one another.

Guild RPS Buff

If you have a friendly and well endowed guild, they likely sponsor Guild RP buffs, at least infrequently, which give you another 2% per seal (although you have to be level 31 to even notice).

At Level Realm Points Guild 2% Realm Points Guild 2% Realm Points Guild 2%
31 to 35 50 per seal +1 60 per seal +1 66 per seal +1
36 to 40 300 per seal +6 360 per seal +7 396 per seal +7
41 to 45 700 per seal +14 840 per seal +16 924 per seal +18
46 to 49 1500 per seal +30 1800 per seal +36 1980 per seal +39
50 3000 per seal +60 3600 per seal +72 3960 per seal +79

The GM's command to start this buff for 24 hours is /gc buff rps

Item Bonuses

Now let's take your character out and earn the Orion's belt, for toons from level 30 and up,

At Level Realm Points Orion 5% Realm Points Orion 5% Realm Points Orion 5%
30 30 per seal +1 36 per seal +1 39 per seal +1
31 to 35 50 per seal +2 60 per seal +3 66 per seal +3
36 to 40 300 per seal +15 360 per seal +18 396 per seal +19
41 to 45 700 per seal +35 840 per seal +42 924 per seal +46
46 to 49 1500 per seal +75 1800 per seal +90 1980 per seal +99
50 3000 per seal +150 3600 per seal +180 3960 per seal +198

If you fetch a Snatcher bracer instead of Orion's Belt, for levels 45 through 50,

At Level Realm Points Snatcher 6% Realm Points Snatcher 6% Realm Points Snatcher 6%
45 700 per seal +42 840 per seal +50 924 per seal +55
46 to 49 1500 per seal +90 1800 per seal +108 1980 per seal +118
50 3000 per seal +180 3600 per seal +216 3960 per seal +237

There are also valued Relic Keep encounter rewards that grant 3% RP bonus, but no matter what combination of items, all together these are capped at 10% maximum RP bonus from items (if they add up to 11% you'll never see that extra 1%). So combining items to reach the 10% cap you are rewarded with;

At Level Realm Points 10% RP Cap Realm Points 10% RP Cap Realm Points 10% RP Cap
45 700 per seal +70 840 per seal +84 924 per seal +92
46 to 49 1500 per seal +150 1800 per seal +180 1980 per seal +198
50 3000 per seal +300 3600 per seal +360 3960 per seal +396

Guerdon Mythrian

And finally at Champion Level 10, you can track down a Guerdon Mythrian. This bonus is on top of any other item/artifact RP bonuses!

At Level Realm Points Lesser 2% Average 4% Greater 6%
50 CL 10 3000 per seal +60 +120 +180
3600 per seal +72 +144 +216

Total it up

So what does this add up to? So your absolutely best possible seal turn in value is (a deep breath here) a whopping 4672 points at level 50 champion level 10.

But let's talk in terms of FREE SEALS! That's right, these cost nothing more than the efforts we mention above.

The underpopulated realm bonus is worth 1 free seal for every five you turn in. Quite a deal!

Running the Temel encounter is worth 1 free seal for each ten you turn in.

Acquiring items - you'll end up with 1 free seal for every ten you turn in with both Orion's and Snatchers, while with one relic award alone at least you'll have 1 free seal for every 33rd or so.

The best Greater Guerdon bonus will give you a free seal for every 17th or so.

Your guild bonus is only worth 1 free seal for every 50 you turn in. It might seem paltry, but with every possible bonus it would still take you over 50 seals to go from RR4 to RR5 - so take the free one!

So combine every bonus, and just think about getting to RR5. You would spend 143 seals with no bonuses (besides the underpopulated server bonus). With every bonus above, you'll get there in 110 seals. At, let's say 3 for 2 plat, that's a savings of 66 plat worth of time or coin. You'll find it's very much worth pursuing all the available bonuses.

Should I wait?

If your toon will sit at Fins until it turns 50, just wait. No point in turning in a single seal.

If you actively play your toon, working from level to level and exploring the lower level content throughout the realms, then by all means think about turning in just a few a little early. In your low 30's farming a few from Lurking Scroungers on Agramon is no sweat (if you don't mind that they come in 4 mobs per pull).

Let's see what you can get for your seals.

  • 21 to 25 - You'll only get to RR1L1, and 1 Realm Skill point, for a seal. With Temel's buff you might get all the way to 2 skill points for your seal. It takes six to get 3 spec points, don't bother.
  • 26 to 30 - You'll still only reach RR1L2 on your first seal, and it costs 4 seals to get to your third skill point.
  • 31 to 35 - Two seals with Temel's buff start off your first three points. Four more to eeek out a fourth skill point.
  • 36 to 40 - Just a single seal gets you the first 4 realm spec points, with Temel's buff a second seal gets you the fifth skill point.
  • 41 to 45 - A single seal gets you the first 5 realm skill points, and one more for each of your 6th, 7th or 8th points. It takes seven seals total to hit RR2L0.
  • 46 to 49 - It's a mere 4 seals to zip straight to RR2L0, have 10 free realm ability points to spend, and a +1 bonus to all skills.

Turn them in now or wait? You choose! At 500g or more per seal, does your character need some coin or more realm abilities right now?

Unstacking Seals

In a word, sucks.

Before you can say "Mythic Should..." it's been discussed frequently on vnboards.ign.com Gaheris Forum, every team lead has plead with Mythic to have this change. All you can do is send your personal feedback through the Herald and wait. Well, it's been five years, so keep unstacking.

As of Patch 1.93, a new Spell Crafting line has been implemented to allow players to convert Glowing Dread Seals and Sanguine Dread Seals into larger seals to save inventory space. These larger seals may be turned in without the need to unstack seals with smaller :10 Glowing Dread or Sanguine Dread Seals convert to 1 Lambent Seal;5 Lambent Seals convert to 1 Fulgent Seal;5 Flugent Seals convert to 1 Effulgent Seal.
